⌨️ How to Type Emojis

Complete guide to typing emojis on every device and operating system.

Windows 10 / 11

Win + .  or  Win + ;
  1. Press the Windows key and the period (.) key simultaneously
  2. The emoji picker panel will appear
  3. Search or browse to find your emoji
  4. Click the emoji to insert it at your cursor

💡 Tip: You can also use the semicolon (;) key instead of the period key. The picker includes emojis, kaomoji, and symbols.

Cmd + Ctrl + Space
  1. Press Command + Control + Space together
  2. The Character Viewer will open
  3. Search or browse emoji categories
  4. Click to insert the emoji

💡 Tip: Click the ⊞ icon in the top right of the Character Viewer to expand it and see all Unicode characters.

iPhone / iPad (iOS)

  1. Open any app with a text field
  2. Tap the 🌐 globe or 😀 smiley face icon on the keyboard
  3. Browse or search emojis
  4. Tap an emoji to insert it

💡 Tip: If you don't see the emoji keyboard, go to Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard → Emoji.

  3. Browse categories or search
  4. Tap an emoji to insert it
